Green Apple Music Presents: An Evening With Brandy Clark

Madam Radar

Connect with Artists in an Intimate Setting

Live music, shared meals, and focused listening create evenings you'll remember long after the last note.

Gather for Live Music Worth Listening To

Authentic acts and attentive audiences make every concert memorable

Green Apple Music Series brings artists from Austin and beyond to San Angelo, creating a listening room experience that feels more like a house concert than a typical show. Now in its 14th season, the series rotates monthly events between The Chicken Farm Art Center and San Angelo Performing Art Center, offering both open-air ambiance and climate-controlled comfort depending on the time of year. For residents across San Angelo and surrounding communities, it's a chance to experience live music without driving hours to larger cities.

At the San Angelo Performing Arts Center, you'll find theater-style seating designed to keep the focus on the performers, who often share stories and interact with the crowd between songs. The social hour before each concert gives you time to settle in, enjoy a light meal, and meet others who value thoughtful performances over background noise. What you bring to the evening—whether it's curiosity, a cooler, or simply your full attention—shapes the experience as much as the artists themselves.

Eden’s Green Apple, Inc., a nonprofit founded in 2012 to expand access to cultural arts where options are limited, manages the Green Apple Music Series. Every ticket, sponsorship, and shared evening contributes to a mission that's been growing steadily, supported by fans who return season after season.

How the Series Unfolds

Once a month from February through October, doors open at one of two rotating venues in San Angelo. You're welcomed into a space set up specifically for listening—not as a backdrop, but as the main event. Food and beverages are part of the setup, so you can arrive early, find your seat, and ease into the evening before the music starts at 8 p.m. Professional sound contractors ensure every note comes through clearly, whether you're seated in the front row or toward the back.

The Chicken Farm Art Center offers an eclectic outdoor vibe under shade awnings, while San Angelo Performing Art Center provides a more traditional theater setting for warmer or cooler months. Both maintain the same intimate feel, and if weather becomes a factor, alternate arrangements keep the show on track. You're encouraged to bring what you'd like to drink in a small cooler that fits under your chair, and talking during performances is gently discouraged—this is a listening room, after all.

Here's what makes each concert evening work:

  • A light meal and social hour included with every ticket, giving you time to connect before the performance begins
  • Seating arranged to prioritize sightlines and acoustics, so every spot in the room feels intentional
  • Artists who treat the audience as part of the experience, not just observers
  • Venues chosen to accommodate seasonal weather changes and maximize the listening experience with accessibility for attendees traveling from Concho Valley communities and throughout Texas.

The Chicken Farm Art Center started as a literal chicken farm and processing plant in the 1940's. After Roger Allen and friends bought the property in 1971, they started converting every nook and cranny into art. Thus, the property boasts an eclectic yet peaceful vibe that is best experienced in person.

Green Apple Music partners with The Chicken Farm Art Center for several of the outdoor shows each year. A beautiful venue and a perfect place to enjoy the best live music in San Angelo.
